The real reason millennial Christian girls get so excited for fall
Okay so let’s be honest, there are a TON of reasons for us girls to get excited for fall. So, technically, I’m not trying to say what the one and only reason is. Let’s be real… ya girl just needs some click bait. Ya dig?
This is 10000% a reflection of a frustration I have and I understand it doesn’t apply to every millennial Christian girl. I also would like to take the time to disclaim that I am in no way, shape or form trying to insult anyone that does any of the following things. I am a true believer that everyone’s walk with the Lord is different and that we all have our own convictions as to what is right and wrong with our personal path with God. (seriously, if you get your feelins hurt easily, you may want to step away from this one… or all of them. I’m probably not the person for you hahaha. I speak my mind y’all.. it ain’t always pretty. But it’s never meant to be hurtful! Everrrrrr.)
Let’s go ahead and just admit that fall is the time when we get to finally dress cute again! I know. Some of you are probably like… whut? Dress cute again? Let me dig in a little deeper here…
So, it’s summer. YAY! Warm weather after a long winter (at least for us Tennessee folk) is finally here. We get to crack open our backyard swimming pools and get that sun kissed glow. However… there is also something happening at the clothing stores. Amidst all our joy of 80+ degree weather and ice cream season, there are also crop tops and booty shorts being hung up on the racks of our favorite place for some retail therapy.
Listen, I’m your average girl. I try not to be too prideful or spend too much time in front of the mirror (honestly because I’m lazy) but I LOVE me a cute outfit, girlfran. I also, however, love being modest. It took me a little longer to learn the values of modesty when I was growing up compared to others but it’s something I truly respect and am very strict about in my life now. To say it’s disappointing to see my attire options *barely* hanging on the hangers in the clothing store is an understatement. So, in the summer time, I’m stuck with either jeans and a t shirt or something relatively cute that makes me sweat like a pig. Neither of which I enjoy.
I don’t want to spend too much time glorifying the negative so, to get to the main point here: SWEATER WEATHER BEBE. Yes! It’s finally back! Cute oversized sweaters with dark wash jeans and a pair of boots. I am SO ready… probably more ready than I should be. Aka, it’s still 80 degrees here in Tennessee but I’m cracking out the lightest sweater I have and ROCKING IT. And the best part? It covers everything! No cleavage, no excessive booty, no room for imagination.
*Now if we could just find something to shave our overly hairy, winter legs for us*
So, ladies, let us raise our pumpkin spiced lattes (ew I hate coffee, but again, click bait) and enjoy it while it lasts!
